Security Concerns and Best Practices for DevSecOps

DevSecOps  is a paradigm for integrating the software development and operation processes considering security and compliance requirements. Organizations are reluctant to transform their development and operation processes to DevSecOps  because of the expectation of incompatibility between security and DevOps. This talk reports about a study performed at IBM on the transformation of five Business Intelligence (BI) projects to DevSecOps . In addition, it  explores the possibility practice of DevSecOps  for smart cyber physical systems..

Challenges in implementing and sustaining DevSecOps environment

How to define DevSecOps is a highly-contested topic. Despite what some will lead you to believe, DevOps is not just a set of tools. Nor is it merely a focus on achieving continuous integration, continuous delivery, or continuous deployment. Business values drive DevOps development. Without a DevSecOps mindset, organizations often find their operations, development, and security testing teams working toward a short-sighted incentive while creating their infrastructures, test suites, or product increments. In this talk I will explain DevSecOps, the common misconceptions and roadblocks, and how you can use DevSecOps to help your organization reach new heights of efficiency and productivity without getting frustrated.

Workshop : Setting-up DevSecOps environment with DevOps mindset

This workshop presents DevSecOps principles and explores comprehensive DevOps practices for project planning; business process integration in the application lifecycle; development activities; and deployment, from start to finish, in an automated and integrated DevSecOps pipeline. These concepts will be presented with technical demonstrations and practical scenarios.
